Seattle PFLAG Support Meetings
The Seattle PFLAG Chapter officially hosts two support meetings in the greater Seattle area – Seattle and Renton. Each support meeting is coordinated by a volunteer who may schedule speakers or topics for a particular meeting. When available, the topics and speakers will be posted in our Events Calendar. A typical meeting consists of a topic discussion or presentation followed by breakout sessions where everyone is given an opportunity to share their current situation or experience. Materials such as pamphlets and brochures are available at each meeting as well as lending library requests.
A PFLAG support meeting is no longer available in Des Moines, WA. Anyone seeking a south King County support meeting may prefer to attend the Renton meeting (see below).
If you find yourself in immediate crisis, please call the Seattle Crisis Clinic at 206-461-3222. For less urgent matters, please call our Helpline at 206-325-7724 and someone will return your call as soon as possible.

Our primary purpose is to provide a comfortable atmosphere of openness where parents, families, friends and LGBT persons can share their experiences with others in order to learn how to support one another with love and pride.
We provide support and encouragement to gay men, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders during the process of "coming out" to their families. Interacting with other parents offers a perspective on what their own parents are experiencing.
We encourage extended family members and friends to join us for support in their learning experience.
We offer full support of human and civil rights for sexual minorities by speaking out and acting whenever necessary to defend their rights.
When attending a meeting, please keep in mind the following:
- What is said in our meetings, as well as the identities of persons attending, is kept confidential.
- Presence at these meetings does not indicate any particular sexual orientation.
- No cameras or tape recorders are allowed at our meetings without prior written consent.
- We ask that all electronics be shut off or put on silent.
